Paul H. Yong
Paul H. Yong is vice president of corporate tax and chief tax counsel for Sempra.
Before joining Sempra’s tax department in 2004, Yong was a principal with Quantum Tax Consultants, a tax partner with Arthur Andersen and vice president of tax with Unocal Corporation.
Before that, Yong was a structural engineer with the U.S. Department of Defense.
Yong formerly served as chair of the board of directors of the San Diego affiliate of Habitat for Humanity. He is co-author of "Corporate Income Tax Accounting," a desktop treatise published by Thomson Reuters. Yong also is an adjunct professor at the University of San Diego School of Law.
Yong holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Hawaii, a master’s degree in tax law from New York University and a Juris Doctor degree from Hastings College of Law. He also completed the executive program at Oxford University.
