CEO Jeffrey Martin on Leading North America in LNG

“We have a leadership opportunity, not only to become greener here in America, but to make sure that we take natural gas of abundance and use it to displace high (greenhouse gas emissions) content coal in very, very big markets in the world,” said Jeffrey Martin, chairman and chief executive officer of Sempra Energy, in a front-page article published in Sunday’s San Diego Union-Tribune.

The article offers an in-depth look at Sempra Energy’s goal to deliver 45 million tonnes per annum of clean liquefied natural gas to the largest world markets, through five strategically located projects. This is more than enough to meet the average daily consumption of natural gas in California, the fifth-largest economy in the world.
